ABOUT ZOOZ
Ever want to mix a first-rate rafting trip with a challenging discussion on ethics?
Discuss the Jewish approach to reincarnation after an exhilarating drum circle?
Yes, you can be both inquisitive and adventuresome when it comes to Jewish learning. Experience is our greatest teacher and life’s hottest questions aren’t always meant to be answered in a classroom. Speak to your fun-loving intellect and learn as you move.
Zooz is Hebrew for “to move” and it’s our theme. Action, momentum and energy underlie all programming that we do. Whether it’s a whole weekend retreat, or a BBQ or even a coffee shop breakfast class, the topics are fresh and the feeling is vibrant. Not only are many of our activities centered around movement (whitewater rafting, hiking, snowtubing and drum circles to name a few), our message is clear: experiential learning is a conduit for investigating life.
Zooz events are a natural bridge to meeting and building relationships with a variety of Jewish professionals in their 20s and 30s from N.Y. through D.C. Intellectually stimulating discussions and group activities encourage people to meet in a fun and thinking environment. Some people come to us for their first Jewish experience since their bar mitzvah candle lighting ceremony, and others come through established Jewish organizations. Some have been to Israel or Jewish get-togethers and are left wondering, “What’s next?”. See how many fantastic, interesting people are answering that question.
Come and experience a Zooz adventure. Whether it’s an internationally themed Shabbat, a hike or a weekend retreat, there’s so much to enjoy and learn about with us.
